Throughout biblical times and the history of the church, men have been used by God to play an important part in God’s sovereign eternal plan for His people.
Many times throughout the history of His people, God has been pictured seeking for men to fulfil the role He has designed for them .
[NLT] 1 Samuel 13:14 But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.” [NLT] Jeremiah 5:1 “Run up and down every street in Jerusalem,” says the Lord. “Look high and low; search throughout the city! If you can find even one just and honest person, I will not destroy the city. [NLT] Ezekiel 22:30 “I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one. [NLT] Ezekiel 22:31 So now I will pour out my fury on them, consuming them with the fire of my anger. I will heap on their heads the full penalty for all their sins. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!”
The welfare of God’s people rises and fall on the men among them. Today’s church will rise to the standard of the Lord only if they have men who are loving leaders , effective teachers , and godly examples.
[ESV] 2 Timothy 2:2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
We need more Timothy and Titus’ around today to carry on the didactic functions of effective teaching and preaching of God’s word to the flock of God.
We need to go back to our position of priests , husband, fathers, teachers .
Let’s emulate men like Elijah, Daniel, Peter, David, Paul who had an intense commitment to God, and they were not what you would call saintly. We need spirit filled men. Jesus built His ministry with 12 spirit filled men who turned the world around spreading His doctrine.
