THESE ARE EVIL DAYS, WALK CAREFULLY. PART THREE

Shalom beloved family of God. Here is the word for today.

šŸ“–Eph. 5:16a “Making the most of your timeā€ šŸ“–

āœ… TO USE YOUR TIME WISELY, MEANS USE EVERY OPPORTUNITY FOR THE WILL OF GOD. ā€œMaking the most of your timeā€ is literally, ā€œredeeming the time.ā€ To redeem means to buy back. The implication is that time is in bondage and that a price must be paid to buy it back. The Greek word here for ā€œtimeā€ does not view time as extended, but rather time as opportunities.
āœ…God gives us choice moments to seize for His purposes. We must be alert to His purposes and ready to grab those opportunities. Redeeming the time has special reference also in Col. 4:5. “Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. NLT) As Christian we must use the opportunity to witness to those around us.
āœ…We as Christians can buy back the wasted hours and use the opportunities for eternal significance. We can grab every opportunity to grow, know Christ and be conformed to His image. We help our children to know and follow Christ. We work to bring others to know Christ and grow in Him. We are stewards of His resources for Godā€™s kingdom purposes, investing wisely in opportunities to further the gospel around the globe. By walking carefully in this evil world, we buy back opportunities for Godā€™s kingdom purposes.
āœ…The word ā€œredeemā€ implies that there is a cost. We must say no to certain secondary things in order to say yes to the crucial. We must say no to hours of TV or games in order to say yes to reading and studying Godā€™s Word. We must say no to selfish activities that pull us away from Godā€™s kingdom purposes. We must say no to certain ways of squandering our money on worldly pursuits in order to say yes to eternal riches. To walk carefully, we must use our time wisely by redeeming it.
āœ…To walk carefully, you must understand the will of the Lord. Paul continues with another contrast, ā€œSo then [because the days are evil] do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.ā€ The will of the Lord is the navigation chart that tells us where we are going and how to get there. Just as it would be foolish beyond imagination to put out to sea with no idea of where youā€™re going or how to get there, the same is true in life. The Lord wants us to understand His will so that we can keep our live on course.

šŸ›šŸ›šŸ›May the Lord help us to use every opportunity wisely, redeeming time by understanding His will in order to live a purposeful life in Jesus Name. AMEN šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™
