Grace and peace to you. Here is the word for today.
Acts 10:1 Now [living] at Caesarea there was a man whose name was Cornelius, a centurion (captain) of what was known as the Italian Regiment,. 2 A devout man who venerated God and treated Him with reverential obedience, as did all his household; and he gave much alms to the people and prayed continually to God. [AMP]
One of the most amazing things about the Bible is the treasure of truth that is packed in it.The account of Cornelius is one of the most amazing conversions recorded in the Bible and it’s more astounding than that of Saul the Pharisee.
Cornelius was a Gentile, a Roman and person who represented the oppressive government of Rome. It’s in the tenth chapter of Acts where we find the mention of Cornelius.
The first great truth we find in the life of Cornelius is, he was a worshiper of the One True God.
☆Though Cornelius came from a society that worshiped many gods, he worshiped One True God.
☆He refused the influence of his peers and found truth.
☆The bombardment of the ways of his culture and society had no power over his convictions.
These truth from the life of Cornelius, can be applicable even our lives today. We live in a generation where people are still worshipping other gods, people are still influenced by peers, culture and society . But we too can be intentional and determined to emulate Cornelius’s truths by the help of the Holy spirit and live a life that glorifies God in Jesus Name. AMEN
